Merchant Policies

Last updated: May 2026

1. Platform Role

Cheaply is a marketplace facilitator, not a seller. Cheaply provides the technology that connects sellers and buyers for group buying transactions. Cheaply does not own, store, handle, ship, or take responsibility for any physical or digital goods listed by merchants on the platform.

By posting a deal on Cheaply, you (the merchant) accept full responsibility for the accuracy, legality, and fulfilment of your listing.

2. Merchant Eligibility

To post deals on Cheaply, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Register with accurate personal information.
  • Complete KYC (identity verification) before withdrawing earnings. Unverified merchants may post deals and collect payments into their Cheaply wallet, but withdrawals require a verified identity.
  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations, including consumer protection laws.

3. Accurate Listings

All deal listings must be accurate and truthful. You are required to:

  • Provide clear product or service descriptions, including any relevant specifications, limitations, or conditions.
  • Set realistic pricing. Artificially inflating prices to create the illusion of a discount is prohibited.
  • Only list items you have the legal right to sell.
  • Disclose any known defects, limitations, or material information that a buyer would reasonably need to make an informed decision.

4. Prohibited Items and Categories

The following are strictly prohibited on Cheaply:

  • Counterfeit, replica, or knock-off goods of any kind.
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and related accessories.
  • Controlled substances, narcotics, or any items regulated under Nigerian drug laws.
  • Stolen property or items obtained through fraudulent means.
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
  • Items that promote violence, hatred, or discrimination against any group.
  • Illegal services of any nature.
  • Products that violate any third-party intellectual property rights.

Cheaply reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these rules and to suspend or permanently ban merchants found to be in breach.

5. Deal Facilitation Fee

Cheaply charges a Deal Facilitation Fee on confirmed sales. The fee is added to the buyer's total at checkout, so you keep your full listed price with nothing deducted from your payout. The current rate is calculated automatically and shown to you on the create-deal form before you publish, and again on the deal detail page.

Cheaply reserves the right to adjust the fee. Merchants will be notified of any changes in advance. The fee applicable to a deal is the rate in effect at the time the transaction is confirmed.

6. Payout Process

When a buyer confirms receipt of their order, your full sale amount is credited to your Cheaply wallet (the Deal Facilitation Fee was already collected from the buyer at checkout). Your payout is scheduled after the buyer protection window passes with no active dispute.

If a dispute is filed during the protection window, the relevant funds remain on hold until the dispute is resolved by the Cheaply support team.

Wallet balances can be withdrawn to your registered Nigerian bank account. Withdrawals are processed within 1 to 3 business days. KYC verification is required before any withdrawal can be made.

7. Deal Closure

Deals remain active until they are manually closed. To close a deal, merchants submit a closure request from their seller dashboard. Cheaply reviews all closure requests before approving them. Closure will not be approved if there are active or unresolved buyer disputes tied to the deal.

Cheaply reserves the right to close any deal at any time if it is found to be in breach of these policies or any applicable law.

8. Order Fulfilment Obligations

Once a buyer joins a deal and payment is committed, you are obligated to fulfil the order. Failure to fulfil confirmed orders may result in:

  • Mandatory refunds to affected buyers.
  • Suspension or permanent removal of your merchant account.
  • Reporting to relevant regulatory authorities where warranted.

9. Disputes

Buyers may file a dispute during the protection window if an order is not delivered, is significantly different from what was described, or is defective. Cheaply acts as a neutral third party when reviewing disputes. You will be given the opportunity to respond and provide evidence before a decision is made.

Decisions made by the Cheaply dispute resolution team are final within the platform. Merchants who disagree with a decision may appeal in writing to [email protected].

10. Intellectual Property

By uploading images, descriptions, and other content to Cheaply, you confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to use that content. You grant Cheaply a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote your listings on the platform and in marketing materials.

11. Policy Violations

Violations of these Merchant Policies may result in listing removal, temporary account suspension, permanent account termination, forfeiture of wallet balances in cases of confirmed fraud, and referral to law enforcement where applicable.

12. Changes to These Policies

Cheaply may update these Merchant Policies from time to time. Continued use of the platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.
